# Burrow Watch - Sample field-note emails

Three sample emails for testing the email intake Skill (Step 4 of the
workshop guide). If you don't have a live inbox connected during the
session, you can paste these directly into the chat and ask Claude to
run the email intake Skill against the pasted text instead of a
connector - the Skill's job (find things with "field notes" in the
subject, extract the relevant content, confirm before coding) works the
same either way.

If you do have a connector set up, forward these to whichever inbox
you've connected, keeping the subject lines as-is, so the "field notes"
filter in the email intake Skill actually has something to find.

Nell,

Summary from today's rounds: Zone 3 remains the concern - density there
makes follow-up treatment logistically harder than the other zones. Two
cases fully resolved, three still in active treatment. I can only get
out there one day a week on the current contract hours, and I'm doing
unpaid callouts when something looks urgent, which isn't sustainable
long-term if the outbreak keeps pace.

Detection has been excellent though - genuinely some of the earliest
catches I've seen in a volunteer program.

**From:** Dana

Hi team,

Just wanted to say the patrols have been no trouble at all, and I like
being kept in the loop about the wombats on my land. One small thing - a
new volunteer left a gate open a couple of weeks back and a few sheep
wandered off, but Nell sorted it quickly and it hasn't happened since.

Also - my neighbour to the east has been noticing more burrow activity
near the creek and might be open to letting you patrol there too, if
that's useful.

Cheers,
Dana

Hi Nell,

Quick update from this week's Zone 3 patrols. We found two more wombats
showing early mange symptoms near the eastern ridge - flagged for
Suresh. Patrol coverage is getting tight, honestly. Jae and I have both
been pulling extra shifts and I think we need to talk about bringing on
another volunteer before someone burns out.

On the plus side, the two burrows we treated last month look completely
clear now - the early treatment approach is clearly working when we
catch it in time.
